Alan Hazeldine, conductor
Arisa Fujita, violin
Violinist Arisa Fujita returns for her third concert with the CCO with Mendelssohn's violin concerto, in a concert which opens with Rossini's lively operatic overture Semiramide.
Two works by Sibelius grace the second half - his popular Valse Triste sits alongside the gentle and classical-feeling third symphony.
