For our March concert we are delighted to welcome the conductor Jason Lai, a former student of the late Alan Hazeldine, in his debut concert with Corinthian Chamber Orchestra.
The concert begins with Brahms’ imposing Tragic Overture. Two early twentieth century works form the centrepiece of the evening: Mahler’s poignant setting of Rückert’s five Kindertotenlieder poems (performed by Adriana Festeu), and Ravel’s orchestral version of his evocative Pavane pour une infante défunte.
The concert concludes with arguably the finest work of Schumann’s symphonic output, his 'Rhenish' symphony.
