For their May concert, which has a Scandinavian theme, the Corinthian Chamber Orchestra are delighted to welcome two Corinthian debutees: the conductor Andrew Gourlay, and pianist Simon Callaghan as soloist in the Grieg Concerto. This will be preceded by Neilsen's Helios overture with its programmatic depiction of the sun's progress through the Aegean skies from morning to evening, and succeeded by Sibelius's deeply personal and nationalistic fifth symphony.
