Daniel Benn, cello

Daniel Benn is currently a fellow at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying with Louise Hopkins. He read music at New College, Oxford whilst studying with Alexander Baillie and graduated postgraduate level with a first from the Guildhall.

Recent engagements in 2015/16 include several performances of the Dvorak Concerto, Haydn C major, Schumann Concerto, the Rococo Variations and the Delius Concerto. Future engagements include the Elgar Concerto at Cadogan Hall in October 2017.

A keen chamber musician, Daniel is artistic director of his own festival in the village of Goudargues, Provence. He has also been invited by Sinfonia Cymru on several occasions to participate in chamber projects. Daniel has played in masterclasses, both solo and chamber, with Rolf Gothoni, Rebecca Gilliver, Raphael Wallfisch and the Belcea Quartet.
