Cello and piano very badly (the piano, that is.)
When did you start your musical education?
Aged 11.
How long have you been with the CCO?
Since December 2004.
What has been your favourite CCO concert?
Easily the Brahms 3 in March 2008.
Which piece of music do you most enjoy playing?
Stravinsky's Dumbarton Oaks.
If you could take a recording of one piece of music to a desert island, what would it be?
Glenn Gould – Goldberg Variations (both recordings if possible, but the later one if not.)
Who are your musical heroes?
Beethoven, Shostakovich, Ives, Xenakis, Ron Mael.
When was the last time you attended a concert as one of the audience?
About a month ago.
What do you listen to in the car?
I don’t.
What are your other interests?
Ice climbing, fishing and stroking cats.
