Nicholas Shipman, clarinet
Nicholas Shipman graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1996, and went on to postgraduate study at the Royal Conservatorium for Music and Dance in The Hague. His teachers have included Sjef Douwes, Joy Farrall, Thea King and Jack Brymer.
Nicholas has performed concertos across the UK, including concerts with the Bristol Concert Orchestra, Peterborough Symphony Orchestra, Stamford Chamber Orchestra and Leicester University Baroque Orchestra. His repertoire has covered concertos by Mozart, Malcolm Arnold, Crusell and Finzi, as well as solo works by Debussy and Mendelssohn.
He has also been a frequent recitalist in Holland, France and the UK, including a live recital broadcast on Dutch National Radio from the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam in 1998.
